Health Insurance - Covers financial loss incurred by the insured as a result of accidents or illness. There are typically two types of Health Insurance:
Medical Insurance: Covers the costs of medical care, hospital fees and related medical expenses in the event of an accident or illness.
Disability Insurance: Covers periodic benefits to an insured who is unable to work as a result of an accident or illness.
Dental Insurance - Covers dental work for the insured limited to the coverage chosen. Options include PPO, flat fee service and prepaid programs.
Life Insurance - Provides funds to replace lost income and to pay expenses associated with the final illness and/or funeral. There are two types of Life Insurance:
Whole Life Insurance - Provides the insured with lifetime protection and is considered permanent insurance.
Term Insurance - Provides coverage for a specified time period, such as 5 or 10 years and is considered temporary insurance.
Accidental Death - Provides coverage in the event of death due to accidental injuries, but not illness. In the event of death, payment is made to the insured's beneficiary.
Long-Term Care - Covers the expenses associated with the daily care that a patient recieves in a nursing facility or in his or her residence following an illness or injury, or in a situation where the patient can no longer perform the neccessary activities required by daily life.
