Although the landlord is responsible for maintaining homeowner's insurance on the property that you are renting, this policy will not cover damage to anything inside the unit, nor will it cover any injuries or damages you cause to other people while on your property.

Renters insurance provides coverage in the event of damage to or destruction of your property as a result of verious perils, as well as liability coverage for injuries and damage you cause to other people while on your property.
